Many subscribers to this listserv will be familiar with the Catholic Archives Society, which is a voluntary organisation founded in 1979 to promote the care of the archives of the Roman Catholic Church in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. It currently has approximately 200 members worldwide, all linked by their responsibility for and interest in the archival heritage of the Church.
The society has had since its founding produced a bulletin, now published annually, intended to keep its membership abreast of news and matters of interest relating to the world of Catholic Archives, including training, preservation and research, and as a forum for queries and general matters of interest.
The Bulletin typically contains reports of the annual conference, overseas visits, and other events, obituaries, general information and notes and news of the Society. The next edition of the bulletin comes out in January 2015. If anyone would like to include a short notice or query in the Bulletin (preferably no longer than 300 words), relevant to the interests of the society, I would be grateful to receive it as soon as possible. The Editor retains the right to edit/exclude any copy received on grounds of space or relevance. Please send to [log in to unmask]
