Hi -
I am working with an honours student (J Kendrick) on coronitic
metagabbro from the western Grenville orogen in Ontario. In a couple of
samples we have found what appears to be an iddingsite-like material as
pseudomorphs after olivine, now preserved within opx coronas. Some
images and analyses are attached.
Has anyone out there seen something like this in a high-grade
metamorphic rock? Preliminary P-T estimates for well equilibrated
subdomains in the coronitic assemblage are on the order of 800 C and 15
kbar.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give us!
