The Department of Physics at the University of Bath has taken the strategic
decision to establish a new research group in Astrophysics. Led by Professor
Carole Mundell, the new group will focus on studies of high-energy phenomena
such as Active Galactic Nuclei and Gamma Ray Bursts - their physics,
environments and impact - with particular interest in rapid optical and
infrared follow up observations using robotic telescopes.
We now invite applications for 3 new core academic posts in these areas,
one at Reader (Associate Professor) level, one at Senior Lecturer (Associate
Professor) level and one at Lectureship (Assistant Professor) level in the
following areas:
A Reader in High Energy Astrophysics with Time Domain Expertise.
A Senior Lecturer in Galaxy Formation and Evolution with a particular
focus on galaxy dynamics.
A Lecturer in Time Domain Astrophysics or Astrostatistics and Instrumentation.
