Last visit Max the Charing Cross Rd was definitely bookish still. But I
would presume those who live closer to the heart of the beast are better
placed to tell. I am, as I write. almost exactly 100 miles away from IT,
yet I can swear I hear the roars of that beast in the small hours of
language. It is a shame that those who live closer to it often choose to
embrace triviality, a real shame.
