I would appreciate any advice as to the potential interest in UK museums for this Image Recognition mobile app:
Solid Gear have produced a unique mobile app, Applicarte, for visitors to use on their own mobile devices to learn more about the pictures and artists that you exhibit. Using our own Image Recognition technology, a visitor can take a picture on their own mobile device and then see details of the artist, the painting and related information. This can be in print or audio mode and is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
Developed in Spain for their Contemporary Museum of Art, Solid Gear are now introducing this unique mobile app into the UK museum market. I am providing a link to our website with relevant details, including a 90 second demo video: http://www.solidgear.es/en/productos/applicarte
More details are available. Pricing is flexible, dependent upon the number of pictures being exhibited and the number of visitors. Potentially this service could be free to museums with a small charge to visitors, which could then be part shared with the museum.
Key questions to the MCG:
-is the UK museum market ready to embrace digital and offer mobile apps?
-to justify the development cost, should the charge be to the museum or the visitor?
Many thanks
Richard Allen
