Hi Jayne
POCT is a standalone section within our Combined Laboratory with a clinical and management lead. It is treated as a separate discipline akin to chemistry or haematology for instance. We report up the trust governance structure through our own POCT Governance Group which meets every 2 months. We are also accountable to the management structure within the lab itself in the same way as the other disciplines.
I am currently the co-ordinator and the management lead which is not ideal but will change in the near future.

Subject: Where does POCT sit?
Hello,
We are currently looking at where POCT sits in the Pathology organisational structure and I would appreciate feedback as to who the POCT Co-ordinator reports to and where the 'section' is placed in your Pathology Department.
Many thanks
