Hi [log in to unmask] ,
You are listed in GOCDB as the admin contact for this service:
https://lcgwms04.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server
This service is reputed to support the vo.northgrid.ac.uk vo:
# lcg-infosites --is
lcg-bdii.gridpp.ac.uk:2170,topbdii.grid.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk:2170 --vo
vo.northgrid.ac.uk wms
https://lcgwms04.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server
https://lcgwms05.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server
https://lcgwms06.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server
https://wms01.grid.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server
https://wms02.grid.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server
When I submit this job to that WMS:
# X509_USER_PROXY=proxy.dteam
# glite-wms-job-submit -a -e
https://lcgwms04.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server -r
hepgrid2.ph.liv.ac.uk:2811/nordugrid-Condor-grid testjob.jdl
i.e. with a dteam proxy, the job is sent to Liverpool ARC/Condor server
and executes properly. But when I submit the same job to the same WMS
but with a (e.g.) Northgrid proxy, the job remains at "Ready" forever.
X509_USER_PROXY=proxy.vo.northgrid.ac.uk
glite-wms-job-submit -a -e
https://lcgwms04.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:7443/glite_wms_wmproxy_server -r
hepgrid2.ph.liv.ac.uk:2811/nordugrid-Condor-grid testjob.jdl
I'm trying to find out why. Can you check the logs please?
Further information.

This job shows this issue:
# glite-wms-job-status -v 3
https://lcglb03.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:9000/N4BQgTq3fifNj1zNcEZ0EQ
When the same job is sent to one of our CREAM CEs it runs on e.g.
# for i in https://lcglb03.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:9000/N4BQgTq3fifNj1zNcEZ0EQ
https://lcglb03.gridpp.rl.ac.uk:9000/Ek0R9YFQS1QT8FhbMxQEPA; do
glite-wms-job-status -v 3 $i; done | grep -A 1 "Ready.* :"
Ready : Mon Nov 3 17:32:42 2014 GMT
Scheduled : ---
--
Ready : Mon Nov 3 17:32:44 2014 GMT
Scheduled : Mon Nov 3 17:32:45 2014 GMT
i.e. in the first case (ARC) it stops at Ready. For CREAM, it runs on.
More Further information.
**************************
In the output of the working (CREAM/TORQUE) example I see this string
"Possible ce nodes". That does not show up for the non-working
(ARC/Condor) example. Do you have any idea what's the matter.
The same problem is occurring for hone users, and I want to migrate them
to ARC/Condor. I can't do so until I've solved this issue.
I bet it's something obvious!
Cheers,
Steve
