Dear CRUMB list lurkers,
today and tomorrow Beryl and I are at the Archives 2.0 conference at the National Media Museum in Bradford. I'll be tweeting from my own account (@sarahecook) if you want to follow some of the discussion.

I am overdue in posting to the list the proceedings from the Futureproofing media arts discussion we had at the NEoN Festival in Dundee a fortnight ago - I will compile those, alongside notes from this conference, and post them as soon as I can. Adding works to an archive or collection is of course a key means of future proofing media arts, but in my paper (tomorrow) I'm asking which collection (or what kind of archive) a born-digital or new media art work should enter.
Following this, I am headed to London to speak at 'Networked Voices: With and Beyond Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Fiducial Voice Beacons', a symposium organised by MFA Curating students from Goldsmiths, University of London, on the occasion of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's Fiducial Voice Beacons artwork commissioned for Information Age, Science Museum. Do let me know if you'll be able to come along.
Please post any thoughts, comments or questions, on the topic of future proofing strategies, including archiving, here.
more soon,
Sarah
