The HERE TO STAY research project addresses the gap in knowledge about the health and social care needs of people with learning disabilities from ethnic minority communities, including new migrants, living in England. The project aims to increase knowledge about the extent of needs in communities, to engage the stakeholders in building consensus on what has to be done to address the needs better and how it can be achieved, and to promote positive change by implementing its findings.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?
Over the past three years we have been collecting views from service providers, commissioners, policy makers and family carers on availability of services and quality of support provided. After hearing from more than five hundred participants, we produced a list of forty statements-recommendations. We then organised two national events during which we asked the participants to advise us on the statements whether or not they should be included in the guidelines that would guide service providers, commissioners and policy makers in addressing the needs of this population.
YOUR PARTICIPATION
We would like to invite you to take part in this consultation process asking for your opinion on the importance of the statements.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
This survey is for service providers, commissioners, policy makers and family carers. We welcome replies from those who have already participated in our project (including online survey, interview, consensus building event) and those who have not had a chance to participate before. You are also welcome to forward this email to those who you think should have their say. If you know of a group of people with a learning disability that could be consulted, please contact [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>

PLEASE CLICK HERE<https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=141408362693> TO ACCESS THE SURVEY. The survey should take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete. The deadline is the 21th of November 2014. We very much hope that you will help us to make this project a worthwhile undertaking.
