Dear Jenny
There are almost a hundred reviews on this topic alone, so it probably would not be useful for you to do another SR. A group of us from Gothenburg University, Trinity College Dublin and City University, led by Prof Marie Berg, are just finalising a systematic review of systematic reviews, because there are so many. This will show the gaps in the research evidence, and then you would see clearly where another SR might be needed. When it is published we will let you know.

Cecily

Subject: Obesity and pregnancy
Hello everyone. I am interested in obesity and pregnancy and am considering undertaking a systematic review into the subject. I have not come across any reviews of the evidence into the 'risks' associated with pregnancy, such as hypertension and gestational diabetes. (I have, however, come across systematic reviews of interventions in pregnancy aimed at obese women). The recommendations from the RCOG/CMACE report (in the UK) for obese women appear to be based on consensus opinion rather than be evidence-based. Can anyone help? Have I missed a big review? Or is the evidence too thin to undertake such a review?
I look forward to hearing from anyone who has knowledge on this issue
