Dear colleagues
The University of Aberdeen school of Geosciences has a current vacancy, closing on 14 November. As a part of continuing significant investment in staffing within the School, we wish to appoint an excellent researcher and teacher as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with research interests in reservoir engineering and/or borehole geophysics (including petrophysics, microseismic research, rock physics or geomechanics). This appointment will complement and extend our existing research and teaching strengths in natural resource exploration and production. Accordingly, applicants should be able to demonstrate the potential contribution of their research to this field and its synergies with existing skills within the School. We are particularly interested in researchers with a track record of publication in high quality peer-reviewed journals, who can demonstrate potential for the acquisition of research funding. The successful applicants will undertake fundamental research as well as contributing directly to our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 salary scale for Lecturer (£38,511 - £45,954 per annum) and the Grade 8 salary scale for Senior Lecturer (£48,743 - £54,841 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Professor David Macdonald (PGT Programmes Director; [log in to unmask]) or Professor David Jolley (Head of School, [log in to unmask]
