The Sydney publisher, Brandl and Schlesinger, has just reprinted a major work of European Romantic literature, the Polish epic, Pan Tadeusz, by Adam Mickiewicz, in a translation by Marcel Weyland, first published in 2004, and something of a rarity. Weyland's translation, a life-long labour of love, is a massive improvement on the only existing English verse translation, by Kenneth Mackenzie, from the mid-1960s. It would be great to get copies of it into university libraries while it is still available.
ISBN is 978-1-1921556-75-3 and the price is around Au$25: paperback only.
I recommend it wholeheartedly. If you are not familiar, please try it. Byronists, in particular, will appreciate its deep connection with Don Juan.
