Dear All
Northumberland Archives has just launched its own blog to share archive news and updates from the various projects that are running.
The Stannington Sanatorium Project is a yearlong project funded by the Wellcome Trust, which aims to catalogue and promote the records of the UK’s first children’s tuberculosis sanatorium. Within the collection we have a large series of patient case notes and the corresponding radiographs dating from the pre-antibiotic era of tuberculosis treatment which we believe to be unique and potentially of great interest to academic researchers. We will be posting regular updates throughout the year to keep you up to date with the progress of the project and telling some of the many stories that emerge from the records. We begin with a brief biography of Henry Wellcome, the man behind the establishment of the Wellcome Trust.
Two other projects, Northumberland at War and The Manorial Documents Register Project, will also be posting updates through this blog. I hope you enjoy reading the blog!
