Hello Kate,
Just to add: at Liverpool University we now have two wikis: Blackboard's own one and the Campus Pack wiki tool (historical as Bb didn't use to have wikis in the past). Campus Pack wikis have extra functionality, e.g. they can be cross-modular or can exist outside the module structure (so students from different modules could access the same wiki) and also can be exported or accessed by external users (if given the appropriate permissions). Perhaps one advantage of the Bb wiki is that you can attach the nice rubric function to it. You can also assess Campus Pack wikis but not with a rubric.
Best wishes,
Tunde
