THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL, FACULTY OF HEALTH AND LIFE SCIENCES, INSTITUTE OF INFECTION AND GLOBAL HEALTH
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN STATISTICAL EPIDEMIOLOGY
£31,020 - £35,939 pa
You will join a team and work closely with Professor Peter Diggle ([log in to unmask]) on the development and implementation of statistical methods related to the integration of complex biological data into longitudinal epidemiological models, and longitudinally structured data in general. You will also work closely with Professor Janneke van de Wijgert on the analysis of existing longitudinal datasets related to HIV, other sexually transmitted infections, and the cervicovaginal microbiome and mucosal inflammation in African settings. You may be asked to contribute to statistical aspects of other research projects within the Institute as well.
You will be based on the University of Liverpool campus but will spend one day per week on the Leahurst campus, Wirral.
You should have a higher degree in statistics and/or epidemiology and practical experience of working as an applied statistician in a biomedical setting. Experience of using longitudinal statistical methods in one or more collaborative research projects is desirable. An interest in integrating complex biological data (molecular data, immunological data) into epidemiological models is also desirable. The latter would require the ability to work closely with biologists and bioinformaticians. The post is available for 2 years initially.
