Subject: Midwives Human Rights Guide - get involved!
Dear midwife friends,
I'm really pleased to let you know that Birthrights is working with the
British Institute of Human Rights and the RCM to produce a Human Rights
Guide for Midwives. The Guide is funded by the Equality and Human Rights
Commission and will be widely available to midwives in NHS Trusts across the
country. It marks a real scaling up in human rights training for midwives
and we are very excited about it.
As part of the project, we need midwives to join the steering group, which
will oversee the content of the guide. Would you be interested in joining
the group?
The time commitment is limited to two meetings. The first meeting is on the
morning of 14 November in London.
I've attached more details, but please get in touch if you have any
questions.
We are looking for about 10-15 midwives from a range of backgrounds, so if
you are interested please send me a brief biography.
And do circulate to any midwife who you think might be keen to join us.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth
