There have been several discussions about how 'troubled families' were defined on BBC Radio 4's More or Less. It featured in two programmes both still available as downloadable podcasts (22 August and 18 May).

Subject: Full Fact seminar next week - correction
Apologies for getting the day wrong in yesterday's Jiscmail about the Full Fact seminar - it is on *Wednesday* 22nd next week (not Thurs as stated).
Thanks also to Paul Ashton for querying the statement in that Jiscmail that ‘the 120,000 families quickly became inseparable with depravity in the public mind’. We were basing this on newspaper reports at the time (for details see the Full Fact website, https://fullfact.org/articles/problem_troubled_families_Louise_Casey_DCLG-27599) which took the evidence from Louise Casey's report as reflective of all 120,000 families. However we do see Paul's point, and have amended the SRA website entry to say "the 120,000 families appeared to become inseparable with depravity in the public mind."
Best regards

PS. Still some spaces available at this free seminar...
