Dear All,
We have an almost identical silver bracelet here in Leicestershire.
The documentation describes it as 'Silver identity bracelet, engraved "Ward K I, CJQY.242.6". Silver bracelet made up of small, flat oval discs and one large one. With "T" bar and loop fastening. Used during WWII.' The bracelet came with a large collection pertaining to the same lady including a large number of certificates from the Red Cross. I have always assumed the bracelet was associated with that organisation?

Hello
A museum visitor recently asked me if I could tell her anything about the small engraved metal fob / tag, pictured in IMAG1666, which belonged to her mother.
The intriguing thing is the number engraved on it: FCBP 175/2
It reminded me of a similar item in the South Shields Museum collections, pictured in IMAG1669.
The latter also has a name and address, and is engraved with the number: FCNS 244-1.
There is another similar item in the collections at Discovery Museum in Newcastle, this time with a name and address, and engraved with the number: G.A.A.P 109-2.
All are known to have belonged to women, all had the woman's name and address, plus a number, and all are believed to have had some 2nd WW connection, although I must admit to not knowing what that connection is, and I'm hoping someone can tell me? The two in the museum collections appear to have been worn around the wrist, and the other looks like it was probably worn on a necklace.
Thanks in anticipation!
Adam
