Dear Sandie,
Ruth Brown's Snail Trail might fit your bill. It shows the journey of a snail from two perspectives: to the snail, the handle of a basket is a terrifying narrow bridge for example. His journey is presented as an odissey, but when in the last picture we see the whole of his itinerary, we realise he just went round in a circle in the garden, and travelled a few meters at most.
Julia Donaldson's Follow the Swallow tells the story of a swallow and a blackbird. They're friends, but each of them thinks the other is telling lies, because they never see the autumn and winter on the same continent. Not sure that's exactly what you're looking for.
