Dear All
May I draw the attention of colleagues to the availability of a number of Chancellor's Fellowships, offered at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, in which Journalism is named as an area of strategic focus?
The Fellowships will normally be appointed at Lecturer level and will offer an academic career (“tenure track” equivalent) with the expectation that candidates will achieve promotion within the 5 year Fellowship period. Fellows who meet the criteria for promotion by the end of the 5 year period and continue to demonstrate a strategic fit in terms of research interests, will continue in an open-ended ("tenured" equivalent) academic appointment at the appropriate level. Exceptionally, where a candidate has an established track record in research leadership, appointments may initially be made at Senior Lecturer level with an expectation that promotion to Reader level will be attained within 5 years.
The closing date for applications is 27 October 2014.
I'll be happy to respond to informal enquiries. More details, including how to apply, are available here: http://www.strathvacancies.co.uk/the-fellowship.html
with good wishes
Michael
