Dear all,
Mia suggested I share this question on your discussion group of which I am
a new member. Here at the University of Geneva we are in the process of
choosing a digitization table or craddle. Our focus is aimed at tables or
craddle engineered for rare and fragile documents. Would you happen to know
which European libraries are using the V-Scan Cobra model (and/or the
semi-robotic model) and for which types of collections ?
http://www.book2net.net/en/book-scanner/book2net-v-scan-cobra-semi-robotic.html
According to the maker the table was made in collaboration with the
***Bayerische
Staatsbibliothek*** and the ***British Library***. Furthermore "Cobra has
been designed in close cooperation with end-users for capturing sensible
historical books and documents in the course of the ***Europeana***
project".
Any feedback regarding this device or any other recent table or craddle
used on old materials would be highly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Radu
