Dear all,
Apologies for cross-posting.
As part of the MicroPasts project, running as a collaboration between the UCL Institute of Archaeology and the British Museum, we have just launched crowdfunded.micropasts.org, the MicroPasts crowd-funding website. This is the third component of the MicroPasts model for crowd- and community-fuelled archaeological research (next to the crowd-sourcing site and a community forum).
Through the MicroPasts crowd-funding site, it is possible to raise up to £5,000 to fund any kind of research into archaeology, history and heritage as long as: 1. the research is developed and conducted by mixed teams of academics (or professionals with institutional links) and volunteer groups; and 2. does not comprise excavations. If you have ideas for projects that might be suitable, please do get in touch. We would also be most interested in any comments you might have on the website, or on any other aspects of the MicroPasts initiative.
Any help in letting other universities and research groups know that the MicroPasts crowd-funding site is now live and ready to receive proposals would also be most welcome.
More information on MicroPasts can be found here:
