Beginning in 2015, the award will be presented to the man or woman who, in the opinion of the judges, has made the greatest contribution to information management or is the year's best exemplar of an information manager. Information Management is a key factor in the development of the UK economy, in which library and information professionals can, should and must play a vital role. It is to recognise and encourage this essential contribution that UKeiG, the CILIP Special Interest Group for promoting the effective exploitation and management of information tools, resources and technologies, with a particular focus on innovation, has created this reward.
Judges will be looking for the person who has made a significant progression to the science through his or her work and professionalism.
UKeiG will issue a call for nominations early in the new year.
The award will be timed so that the winner can be announced at the IntranetNow conference.
UKeiG already presents the Tony Kent Strix Award for information retrieval and the Jason Farradane Award for an outstanding contribution to the information profession.
