There is a two day event at Senate House involving digital humanities with at least in the paper programme a reference to "too much information" which indicates that nothing has been learned by someone somewhere about the role of libraries, collecions, controlled vocabularies, classifications and catalogues.
I'm doing a pop app at 13.00 on the Saturday, partly referencing my international development stuff from 1985-7, as I have found a couple of papers in the British Library catalogue, and demonstrating some of the stuff I have been doing on archaeknology #archaeknology (think lis-linkers can probably work that one ought.
We do I think have a general idea that bibliography and library begat the library association, and that by 1958 was begat the information science universe and the british computer society, which begat another parallel information. One line might not be enough? My coining of the concept term "information systems" in the 1970s was an attempt to square these circles, or encircle these squares.
Comput* as a role in information, which then becomes post modernism seems to me to lead to the term composting #composting. So now my pop app has a Name.
