Well, indeed, although actually most distributed storage systems do
have a preferred configuration management approach (Ceph provides its
own configuration management tool, for example).
The Puppet modules for DPM do not, IIRC, depend on the rest of a
'site' existing or having config, so I think they're reasonably
minimal (and at least Puppet is a widely used configuration system,
unlike YAIM, so things are perhaps slightly improving).
