CFP: PUBLICATIONS OF THE ENGLISH GOETHE SOCIETY
The editors of the Publications of the English Goethe Society – Kevin Hilliard (Oxford), Angus Nicholls (Queen Mary University of London) and W. Daniel Wilson (Royal Holloway, University of London) – are accepting submissions for the open-submission issue of PEGS. Articles should be sent to Angus Nicholls ([log in to unmask]) by 15 Dec. 2014. The submission requirements are available at http://www.englishgoethesociety.org/PEGSSubmissions.html
Articles may be in English or German. Though we have no set parameters on length, articles are generally in the range of 5,000-10,000 words. Publication is expected in May or June, 2015.
The English Goethe Society was founded in 1886, making it the oldest learned society in the UK dedicated to things German, and the second-oldest Goethe society in the world. In expanding the publication schedule of PEGS to three issues a year, the Society has opened the journal to high-quality unsolicited articles, which are evaluated by blind peer review. Members of the international Editorial Board are listed at http://www.englishgoethesociety.org/PEGSeditors.html
The subject areas covered by PEGS are:
o Goethe’s life and works and their immediate contexts
o the literature and culture of 18th- and early 19th-century German-speaking lands
o responses to or reception of that literature and culture both outside and within Germany up to the present day.
