Dr Sara Parker and Dr Kay Standing, Sociology LJMU, have long standing research links with Nepal. Sara met Indira in December 2011 and was inspired by the work that she is doing fighting for gender based equity in Nepal and especially with her work at Prisoners Assistance Nepal. Indira has shared her experiences with students who visited Nepal in 2012 and more recently with students on a LJMU internship programme and will be featured in a forthcoming book that focuses on Celebrating Inspirational Women in Nepal 2015.
Indira will be visiting Europe as one of the finalists for the World Children’s Prize and was are honoured to be able to invite her to the UK to speak about her experiences of fighting injustices in Nepal and her work supporting children whose families are incarcerated in Nepal
