Hello all,
I just wanted to introduce you to Edinburgh University Library's new blog site, Bits and Pieces (http://libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk/bitsandpieces/).
The University Library is embarking on a 2 year project to develop and install a digital preservation repository solution to manage and preserve the university's born digital records, digitised content and acquired digital collections which have been selected for permanent preservation.
The Bits and Pieces blog will be a window to that process and its my intention to use it not only as a record of the project but to provide help to others embarking on, or looking to embark on, a similar process, and also just to share what I've learnt (in true community spirit).
My initial posts covered the DASISH workshop on Trust and Certification, which I was lucky enough to attend last week. A really interesting session, with lots of thought provoking questions coming from it.
If you're keen to learn more about what the University Library is up to and keen to follow us through the highs and lows of building a solution to our digital archiving needs then please subscribe and follow me. You can even get in touch or send comments if you want to make contact...
