My name is Patrycja Duszynska and I am delighted about being the new chair of Wales/Cymru IRMS Group and relaunching the Wales/Cymru Group.
I work for Ceredigion County Council as the Information and Records Management and Training Officer, and I have worked in records and information management for 6 years, after graduating from Wroclaw University.
I believe that sharing experiences between professionals is extremely valuable, and I am looking forward to meeting you all at the next Wales/Cymru (IRMS) Group meeting, that will be held on:
1 December 2014, Monday – 09:30 – 16:00; Ceredigion County Council, Aberystwyth
I have a maximum of 50 places for this event; priority will be given to IRMS members. If you are not an IRMS member, you may still register your interest but we can only provide confirmation of a place for 2 weeks prior to the meeting.
Directions to the event and parking facilities will be sent nearer the time, lunch will be provided. Details of speakers will follow in further announcements.
The theme for the next few meetings will be: “Paper - Less LIGHT Office…” The agenda has not been confirmed yet, however In line with the theme the main topics for next two meetings will be:
• New ways of working; working electronically and reducing paper
• Introducing BS10008 compliance/framework in Wales
• Framework for the destruction of paper
• 'Big Moves...'and impact on reducing paper
• 'clear desk' policies, open plan offices with the limited space for keeping paper
• Digital repositories for records
• Retention Schedules, 'Big Bucket' Approach
• Introducing Corporate File Plans, Classification Schemes...
