OCTRU Trials Programmer (115709)
Grade 7: Salary in the range of £30,434– £37,394 per annum
An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trials Programmer to join the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit’s (OCTRU) growing programming team. The programming group works on varied research projects through the creation and on-going support of highly scalable data centric applications.
You will join the Core Programming team to develop, maintain, support and validate effective data entry and administrative systems using Object-oriented programming languages and MySQL. You will therefore have a high degree of autonomy and will be expected to think proactively and exercise considerable initiative. Other duties will include writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for the IT components of OCTRU’s work as well as updating and implementing rigorous validation of all systems and databases used.
You will have a degree in a recognised computing qualification or equivalent experience, and have the ability to manage simultaneous projects and work efficiently within deadlines. You will have experience of programming in PHP and MySQL, as well as expertise in writing complete programs. Previous experience in providing general support to randomised control units, and knowledge of CMS, VBA, SQL, SPSS, STATA or OpenClinica, integrating hardware and developing iOS and android applications would be an advantage.
This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 3 years. Part-time appointment can be considered.
