The School of Health and Social Care has a strong research culture. In the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE), the School was one of the eight areas submitted and had 10% of research activity graded 4* and 30% graded 3*.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the continuing development and expansion of quantitative research and teaching at BU. Working with the Professor of Statistics, you will contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level, providing methodological support to staff, and developing your own research programme. The post will involve the provision of statistical and/or methodological consultancy, and being a member of multi-disciplinary teams developing research protocols and conducting research projects. Involvement in Clinical Trials will be an important aspect of the post.
Applicants at both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level must be qualified to PhD level in a discipline strong in quantitative research methods and/or statistics. Those for Senior Lecturer level must be able to demonstrate a strong potential for research leadership with a track record in refereed publications and success in grant applications.
This post is available for 2 years on a fixed-term contract to provide career break cover for an established member of staff.
