We are seeking to appoint an outstanding researcher with expertise in applied statistics and clinical epidemiology to this exciting new non-clinical Senior Lecturer post. The successful candidate will undertake world leading research that will have a significant impact on the quality of health care and public health, on health improvements and reductions in health and health care inequalities. The post holder will provide leadership for the expansion of applied statistics/clinical epidemiology research across UCL. They will lead and develop the Inequalities Research Group in the Department of Applied Health Research and be responsible for the further development of interdisciplinary collaborations across UCL and NIHR CLAHRC North Thames. The post holder will also have a significant role in developing and delivering on the education mission of the research department and Institute, including the supervision of doctoral and post-doctoral researchers and teaching on the new CLAHRC Academy modules and the new BSc in Population Health Sciences. This post is an open-ended HEFCE-funded appointment.
The post holder must have a PhD in applied statistics, clinical epidemiology or a related field, OR evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications, is expected to have significant expertise in analysing large datasets, and will have an extensive track record of statistical analyses of data for applied health research. They will have published applied health research papers in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and will have obtained research funding from external funding bodies, preferably as Principal Investigator.
