Hi Rebecca,

The Quality Care Commission will look at the safety notice and decide whether your Trust is compliant or not. The safety notice describes the algorithm being operated from the LIMS.
This is what we have consistently stated to be the requirement. Using different Trust software to run the algorithm as an interim position in a clear path to full compliance (algorithm running in the LIMS)
may (I guess) be acceptable to the CQC if there are credible timescales to full compliance.

Hope this helps,

Best wishes,

Robert

Dear Dr.Hill

This is really useful, thank you. May I also ask who to contact to determine what will be accepted in order to comply with the NPSA for AKI? We are considering the use of our hospital patient information system instead of the LIMS. Providing it can deliver exactly what is required by the NPSA eg exact algorithm, AKI result to patient record and renal data bank would it fulfil compliance?

Kind Regards

Rebecca

Thanks for the prompt Rebecca. The enclosed slides are what I've analysed so far. I am working through the other responses.
