IOP Publishing congratulates scientists Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and
Shuji Nakamura on becoming the latest Nobel prize laureates for their
invention of "efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled
bright and energy-saving white light sources."
In recognition of Akasaki, Amano and Nakamura?s landmark achievements, we
are making a collection of breakthrough papers connected with the 2014
Nobel Prize for Physics award freely available to all. These articles
published in the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, Applied Physics
Express, Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, Reports on Progress in
Physics, and Semiconductor Science and Technology, will be free to read
until the end of 2014.
