Considering the level of "support" we have been receiving from Unit4 over the last few months I can't see that we notice any difference:).

pFACT - END OF LIFE POLICY STATEMENT

Dear Jim

Education & Research is a key global sector for UNIT4 Business Software and we are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to our customers. This commitment, together with our knowledge of our markets’ evolving needs and expectations, drives us to proactively develop and shape our solution set to best meet customer requirements both now and in the future.

These factors resulted in the development of functionality in Agresso Research Costing and Pricing (ARCP) that had previously been unavailable. To ensure we continue to offer the best possible solutions we have subsequently evaluated our product portfolio and decided to discontinue the research costing tool pFACT.

We would therefore like to take this opportunity to notify you of the move to End of Life (EoL) pFACT, and to set out the key timeline and options for you as a customer.

Withdrawn from Market (WFM)

In January 2014, UNIT4 Business Software selected the pFACT product to be a product which was Withdrawn from Market (WFM).

With this WFM UNIT4 Business Software ceased to market and sell the product, in preference to alternative replacement solutions.

  * Last Customer Ship date (LCS)

We notify that with immediate effect the Last Customer Ship date for the latest version of pFACT – Version 3.0 – is 1st October 2014.

As of the LCS date, this version of the product is no longer available for upgrades and Consultancy services.

  * End of Support date (EoS)

We notify that the End of Support date is the 30th September 2015 (12 months after the LCS date).

After the EoS date, we will no longer support any version of the pFACT product. Support is deemed as software changes and telephone help and advice.

Between the LCS date and the EoS date, the product will receive Priority 1 bug fixes.

Customers with maintenance plans that extend beyond the EoS date will continue to receive telephone help and advice.

  *   Alternative product solution

As above, with the EoL of pFACT we emphasise that there is an alternative solution available to continue providing the business functionality of research costing and pricing with the ARCP module available on the Agresso platform.

Please contact your Account Manager or the Business Support team to explore your options on this alternative.

UNIT4 recognises that for some institutions a costing and pricing solution lends itself to a shared service offering in the cloud. Any institutions who would be interested in working with UNIT4 and other institutions in moving to a hosted shared service solution in the cloud for ARCP should get in contact with their Account Manager.
