Hello
I am putting together an article for the OH journal on assessments of fitness to work and wonder if there are any questions you would like to see answered.
Is the subject of interest to you? It may have wider importance in future with the launch of the national fit for work service and Scottish equivalent, the involvement of OH practitioners in assessments for work function in relation to moving individuals from benefits and into work and more broadly the need to asses fitness to work within organisations.
Here are examples of the questions the article could address, but if you disagree with these or have other suggestions it would be really helpful if you could let me know:
• To what extent do OH practitioners do assessments already and to what extent is it a new approach?
• How do feel about a ‘hands-off’ assessment approach?
• What methods are available to assess work functional capacity for different areas of incapacity (eg, audio, MSDs)?
• How do OH practitioners feel about doing assessments given the bad publicity in the past and the strong views of disability lobbyists?
• What templates and tools are available?
• Do OH professionals make good disability assessors?
PLEASE SEND YOUR RESPONSES OFF LIST, I.E. TO ME ONLY
Many thanks
