Dear all,
We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral research associate to
participate in a new project to investigate evidence for recycling in
mantle reservoirs as part of the Mantle volatiles: processes, reservoirs
and fluxes consortium funded by NERC.
The PDRA will focus on boron concentration and isotope determination of
melt inclusions and basalt glass in ocean island basalts (OIB) and key
mid-ocean ridge basalt glasses (MORB) by ion microprobe. This position
is linked to several other work packages in the volatiles consortium and
the individual is expected to contribute to the wider project goals
determining how the subduction signal is modified by mixing and
residence in the mantle prior to emission at mid ocean ridges or ocean
island vent sites.
This post is full time, fixed term for 28 months and is available from
5th January 2015; or as soon as possible thereafter.
