Gerard Parr suggested that I get in touch with you about some events
that we are running as part of the IT as a Utility Network+ for the RCUK
Digital Economy programme. Gerard is a Co-Investigator of ITaaU.
He also suggested that you may be able to circulate this information to
the NGN list.
Firstly and at short notice we are co-organisers of a cloud computing
event in Edinburgh targeted and business users:

Aims for the workshop
The questions that will be reflected upon by the speakers and
participants include the following: what are the benefits offered by
cloud computing? Do they differ for small, medium and large enterprises?
Are the promised features of scalability, security and flexibility
coming to fruition? Are newer and better opportunities opening up for
serice providers as well as consumers?
I addition we are in evolved in UCC2014 - Utility and Cloud Computing
2014 an international event being held in London -

ITaaU is running a symposium on the Wednesday (10th) on the rapid
deployment of cloud and utility services for fast-moving emergency
situations.
This event will take the form of a series of by invitation talks. If
there is someone from your team doing work in this area we would be
pleased to hear from them.

I am also involved in attracting sponsors for UCC2014 with the idea that
sponsors can then speak at the Industry Session on the Thursday. If you
have any grid/cloud business contacts who might be interested in a
modest sponsorship package and giving a talk I would welcome an
introduction.
