UCL is offering a Qualitative Research Methods course, which can be taken as a whole module, or as individual day courses.

Day One - 22nd January 2015 - Understanding qualitative research methods

* Focus groups - what, why and how?
* Designing a good topic guide for focus groups
* Focus group facilitation skills - theory and practice
Day 3 - 26th February 2015 - Qualitative interviewing - theory and practice

* Qualitative interviewing - what, why and how?
* Designing a good topic guide
* Interviewing skills - theory and practice
Day 4 - 12th march 2015 - Qualitative data analysis

* Transcribing - what, how and why?
* Data management
* Inductive and deductive analysis
* Practical session - data analysis using thematic analysis
Day 5 - 26th March 2015 - Designing a qualitative study

* How to write a good protocol for a study which uses qualitative methods
