Hello
Our Learning Tech team have created a template on our VLE (Blackboard) for every unit. The Reading List menu item automatically links to the unit's Talis Aspire page. This is great for standard, internal courses.
However, we've realised that our partners - who may have unit pages on Blackboard - are going to be a problem. We're not going to be creating Talis lists for them because the resourcing rests with their home institutions (eg FE college). So, currently, they'll get an error message telling them to contact our library staff when they click on the Reading List menu item. This is confusing and inappropriate for quasi-external students.
Has anyone dealt with a similar issue, whether in Blackboard or another VLE? Is there an elegant, scaleable way round it?
(At the moment the best thing we can think of is create one 'List' advising (partner) students to contact their home institution; and link that list to every unit associated with a partner instution.)
Perplexed

Happy to summarise for the list.
