Following the announcement of Swets going into administration and
publishers’ responses, please see BMJ’s update:
BMJ has been informed that Swets & Zeitlinger Group BV agency have gone
into administration with effect from 22 September 2014. If your institution
uses Swets to purchase products from BMJ on your behalf, please be aware
that the legal situation is as yet unclear, but you do need to be aware
that BMJ are not obliged to fulfil any subscriptions for which we haven't
received payment from Swets. We recognise that this is a difficult time for
our customers and we want to work with our library customers to ensure that
the risk and potential impact of this situation is minimised and
subscriptions to our products are not disrupted. In view of this, we
suggest you carefully consider your options before placing orders or making
payments to Swets but consider using alternative agents or contactly us
directly for your existing BMJ business until the legal situation with
Swets becomes clear.
If you have concerns or queries about orders / payments you have already
placed with Swets, please get in touch with our Customer Service team and
we will review the current status with you. ([log in to unmask]
