Dear colleagues,
Please note that registration is now open for the Tectonic Studies Group Annual Meeting 2015:
http://www.geolsoc.org.uk/TSG-15-Annual-Meeting
The meeting will take place in Edinburgh from January 6-8, 2015.
We will emphasise the following themes:
- Earthquakes in the geological record
- Rock deformation in nature, experiments and simulations on multiple scales
- The evolution of fluids and transport properties in deforming rocks
- Advances in regional geology and tectonics
However, the meeting aims to showcase a wide range of on-going research in structural geology and related disciplines and encourages submissions outside the above themes. The conference will foster opportunities for discussion and networking across all academic levels. We do particularly invite early career researchers to present their work.
Confirmed Keynote Speakers are:
Alexandre Schubnel (ENS, France)
Julia Gale (UTexas Austin, USA)
and Samuel Angiboust (GFZ, Germany).
Workshops:
A series of workshops will be held in the days preceding and following the core meeting:
January 4-5: Digital field mapping day (Arthur’s Seat) and Introduction to MOVE (MV)
January 5: Introduction to experimental rock mechanics in the UK (Tom Mitchell, UCL, and others)
January 9-10: Image analysis in Earth Sciences (Renée Heilbronner, Uni Basel)
January 9-10: Digital field mapping day (Arthur’s Seat) and Introduction to BGS’ SIGMAmobile (Nikki Smith, BGS, and others)
All of these workshops are free of charge but subject to the registration of the minimum number of ten participants per workshop.
The deadline for workshop registration is November 7, 2014.
Registration:
Please register through the Geological Society of London website using the following link:

Luca Menegon (University of Plymouth) ([log in to unmask])
and co-convenors
Graham Leslie (British Geological Survey)
