Liz Denton, Museum Development Officer, will be taking your questions on the implications of the National Curriculum for museums on Thursday 25 September 2014 between 3-4pm BST. http://www.yorkmuseumstrust.org.uk/blog/ask-the-expert-qa-25-september-museums-and-the-national-curriculum-liz-denton-museum-development-officer-2/
The new National Curriculum for England will be taught in all maintained schools from September 2014. The changes have long been heralded but how much impact will they have on museum learning provision? Liz Denton has over 20 years experience of working with school children both in formal education and in museum learning. She will be on hand to discuss how museums can make their learning programmes relevant in light of the changes, identify how to reach teachers and explain how the National Curriculum does not comprehensively affect the total schools market.
You can post questions on copyright before the Q & A session, on 25 September, or you can converse in real time with our expert. You can use the comment box on the blog to post a question, or you can use twitter with the hashtag #mdyask.
This is Museum Development Yorkshire's 6th Ask the Expert on-line blog and Q& A for museums in the Yorkshire and Humberside region following a series of successful blogs from a range of experts including:
