could you please circulate the following information regarding an event being held in Oxford this Saturday?
On Saturday the 20th of September 2-4 there will be presentations held in the Project Space of Modern Art Oxford, The International Gallery of Jamaica presents: 'Evangelic'

During which there will be discussions regarding the influence of the Baptist Church on Jamaican history. How the figures Sam Sharpe, Paul Bogle and George William Gordon's relationship to church, influenced their fates, and how their actions and the actions of the church brought about social change in Jamaica. It will also reflect on the relationship of the church and politics in the country today.
There will be presentations by:

Rosemarie Davidson-Gotobed regarding the bicentenary of Jamaican and British Baptist union work and speaking about the work of the Sam Sharpe Project which explores lessons learnt from the narrative of Sam Sharpe of 'liberation from below’ http://www.samsharpeproject.org/
Finally Emma Walsh from the Angus Library will speak about the collection of objects and documents held at the Angus library, using a number of these objects to illustrate her speech, she will also speak about the exhibition Slavery: the Historical and Modern perspectives, at which a number of these items were on display. http://theangus.rpc.ox.ac.uk/?exhibition=slavery-historical-and-modern-perspectives
