Just a reminder of the listening event taking place at the British Library on THURSDAY OCTOBER 2ND doors open 5pm.
D.G.Bridson’s The March of the ’45
(13 May 1956 BBC Home Service (first broadcast 28 February 1936). Written by D.G.Bridson Produced by Gordon Gildard and D.G.Bridson)
This classic and highly influential early radio feature is an emotionally charged account of the Jacobite rebellion of 1745 and 1746. At times it is powerfully Scottish and nationalist, evoked by the hypnotic rendering of ‘The clans are coming!’ ‘The clans are coming!'
The event is ticketed although the tickets are free.
