For me it looks like charred acorn. I have attached an article of mine in Romanian but it has a small English summary and pictures of acorns (fig. 1-3).

Hello,
I've attached photo's of three nutshell specimens that i'd appreciate some ID help with. They're from the same site as the Juglans with occasional Corylus.
Type 1 reminds me of pecans (Carya?) but the site is in medieval France.
