It is very very sad.
Most of us loved her poetic touch on what she was doing and this will remain inside our feelings to color the memory of the friendship and the work we shared

Dear All
Very sad news. As you will know, Heather has been seriously ill since last summer, and she finally passed away this morning.
She leaves a monumental hole in our world. she was chair of SCOS 1995-8, and joint editor of Culture and Organization with me and then Bob Westwood during a period when its present identity was forged. She made such a difference to SCOS, but indeed, to the lives of everyone she touched. She was a brilliant thinker, a warm and generous colleague, an unforgettable teacher, and an irreplaceable friend. We are dreadfully diminished by her loss.
There will be more information about a memorial service to come.
May she rest in peace, and stay warm in our hearts.
Steve.
