Lecturer in French and Francophone Studies
Cardiff School of Modern Languages seeks to appoint a full-time fixed-term Lecturer on the Teaching and Scholarship Pathway to deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, in the areas of French and Francophone Studies.
You will have excellent ability to communicate in English and French, both orally and in writing. You will have developed effective language teaching skills, above all in relation to translation into English, and be able to deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials on topics relating to post-war France and francophone culture, politics, film, history and society. The post holder is required to teach up to an average of 15 class hours per week during term time conditional on a balanced and reasonable workload being agreed.

The appointment is full time fixed term to cover a period of leave and the successful candidate will be expected to take up the post from 1.9.2014 until 30.6.2015.
Appointment will be made at Grade 6 Lecturer: GBP331,342 - GBP337,394 per annum or Grade 7 Lecturer: GBP339,685 - GBP345,954 per annum, depending on experience.
