Dear all,
I'm looking for help to identify the instrument in the attached images. The owner does not believe it is a volt or ammeter and the indicator is sensitive to the movement of the case and will always point 'north'.
A search of the trade directories identifies E. Fardon & Son as Edward Langley and Charles Fardon of Stoneleigh, rather than Leamington (although Stoneleigh village is only a few miles from Leamington). From 1861 they are listed as blacksmiths and/or whitesmiths, and engineers from the First World War until 1924.
Any information about the instrument or suggestions as to what it might be will be gratefully received.
With thanks in anticipation.
Vicki
