Hi Claire (and all)
The Pan-Africa Chemistry Network might be of interest… it says here (http://www.rsc.org/Membership/Networking/InternationalActivities/PanAfrica/aboutPACN/Index.asp):
The Pan Africa Chemistry Network is networking scientists, researchers, schools and libraries, to help promote science and research throughout Africa.
The Network aims to:
• Support the teaching of chemistry in schools via courses for teachers, provision of materials and resources which will be made available to schools.
• ... [lots of other great stuff to do with HE and research]
Cheers

Subject: [PSCI-COM] SciCom organisations in Africa
Dear Colleagues,
I'm teaching a short residential scicom course this week, and have a student from Nigeria who is asking whether I can put her in touch with science communication organisations in Nigeria or elsewhere in Africa.
She does a huge amount of work to support science communication in schools in her country, but would like to connect with other folk working in the field to share best practice/ get advice. She is also wondering whether there are any initiatives in the UK to mentor science communicators in Africa.
I've had a look around the web, but drawn a blank, so was wondering if anyone could please point me in the direction of some useful info?
Many thanks for your help!
Claire
